Juliane Marie, bust

Frederik the Heir Presumptive

Frederik, the Danish Heir Presumptive, was the son of Frederik V and Juliane Marie. He was married to Sophie Frederikke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, who gave birth to Christian VIII.

Juliane Marie

Juliane Marie, 1729-96, Juliane Marie became Queen of Denmark when she married Frederik V in 1752. Her father was Duke Ferdinand Albrecht of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. She was the mother of Prince Frederik, the Heir Presumptive.

1750-1775

The long peaceful period continued into the second half of the 18th century, and in time the economy also blossomed. The great powers of Europe were at war during long periods and trade found new ways to the benefit of neutral Denmark.

Frederik V

Frederik V was the King of Denmark-Norway from 1746; son of Christian VI and Sophie Magdalene of Brandenburg-Kulmbach, and father of Christian (VII).
