Table with stone top, in which are cut marking lines. It was originally intended for use as a calculating board, but also employed as a “shove-halfpenny” board. Foot from 18th century.

1: Christian IV's Winter Room

The Winter Room is the best preserved room from the original Castle, and it was the most important of the King's three private chambers.

1600-1625

The first decades of the 17th century was a great period for the entrepreneurial and ambitious Christian IV. An economic depression was on its way, but its full force had not yet been felt.
