Wall decoration

Flora, who is the goddess of flowers and the spring, floats gracefully on the wallpaper. The many wall decorations in the room are close to their Pompeian models.

Dolphin door handles

Handles found on the inner side of the doors in The Pompeian Chamber.

Women's Order

The Order of St Catharine was a Russian ladies' order, which was instituted in 1714 in honour of Catherine I of Russia. Both Queen Louise and Queen Alexandrine received this order.

Golden Egg with Hen

This golden egg was made in France around 1720. It was a present from Charlotte d'Orléans to Caroline Matilda of Great Britain.

Dannebrog flag from 1864

At the so-called Reunification with Southern Jutland in 1920, Christian X received this banner in remembrance of the military defeat to Prussia and Austria in 1864.

Floral paintings

The two round floral paintings on either side of the bureau were painted by Queen Louise herself.

Chaiselongue

The chaiselongue from 1864 is made of satin with twisted silk fringes and two large tassels.

Satin sofa

The grey satin sofa with matching armchairs in the private salon of Queen Louise are unusual for their time.
