Unfortunately, there isn’t space for suitcases. Please note that bags must be collected before closing time, as the castle area will be closed off.
It is not possible to bring strollers and prams into the castle. We kindly ask our guests to park them outside the entrance of the castle. For security reasons carry cots cannot be brought into the castle. We recommend the use of baby slings.

Guidelines for visiting the castle

Because there are many fragile and freestanding objects at Rosenborg, we ask our guests to observe a few simple precautions.
The objects in the museum may not be touched. It is important that you follow the instructions and recommendations of the staff during your visit.

  • Photography is allowed, but without the use of tripods and sticks.
  • You are allowed to take water in clear plastic bottles into the museum. You are welcome to enjoy any other food and drink you bring with you at one of our outdoor tables and benches.
  • Please avoid talking on your mobile phone in the museum, as doing so may disturb the other visitors. You are, however, welcome to use your mobile phone to look at our online guides to the exhibits or for taking pictures.
  • Young children must be accompanied by an adult inside the museum. Very young children must be carried in a baby carrier on the stomach.
  • It is not possible to bring strollers and prams into the castle. We kindly ask our guests to park them outside the entrance of the castle. For security reasons carry cots cannot be brought into the castle.

If you have any further questions, you are welcome to contact the guard’s office by telephone: +45 33 18 60 52.
We hope you enjoy your visit to The Royal Danish Collection.

Wheelchair Users and People with Mobility Challenges

The castle consists of multiple levels accessible only via stairs, as there are no elevators or handicap lifts. Wheelchair users can only visit the ground floor and the treasury, requiring assistance from a companion. There are stairs to both levels, so your companion must assist you up and down the stairs.

It is possible to bring a walker on all levels of the castle, but you must be able to carry it up and down the stairs yourself.

Please note that the entrance to the castle measures 96 cm in width, and the descent to the cellar measures 130 cm.

Free admission for companions

Individuals with a companion card from Danish Disability Organizations can bring a helper/companion for free. The companion card must be presented upon arrival. You can book a free companion ticket online or inquire at the ticket office upon arrival.

We recommend booking tickets online to avoid long wait times during busy periods.

You can book a ticket for yourself and your companion online here

Restrooms

There is an accessible restroom on the premises. Please ask our staff for further information.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

If you have an invisible disability, you can receive a free Hidden Disabilities Sunflower and plastic pocket for a personal card when visiting Rosenborg Castle. Both items are available at our shop or at the ticket office.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a discreet signal to others that you might need a little extra time, patience, or assistance. As part of the Sunflower program, our front-line staff understands this, and they are equipped to ensure a pleasant and safe visit.

You can read more about the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower here
