The Danish designer Jim Lyngvild has published a book in collaboration with the Royal Danish Collection about Danish royal treasures and crown jewels. The book shows photographs of still lifes that he has created based on his own personal selection of these royal treasures.

This summer you can follow Jim Lyngvild’s example in this workshop, which is held in the Knights’ Hall at Rosenborg. In the workshop you can use the items that we make available, including fruits, insects, skulls and flowers, to create your own still life. You are also welcome to include some of your own possessions to create a unique and personal still life.
Complete your still life by taking a photo of it with our Polaroid camera and post it on the photo wall in the Knights’ Hall.

What is a still life?

Still life is an art genre. A still life is an arrangement of objects, often symbolizing prosperity, wisdom or even death.

Win a copy of Jim Lyngvild’s book and a gift certificate to our castle shops

Take a photo of your still life and share it with us on Instagram or on the photo wall – then you are included in the draw for a copy of Kongelige Skatte & Kronjuveler (Royal Treasures and Crown Jewels) with a personal greeting from Jim Lyngvild and a DKK 500 gift certificate for our castle shops.

How to participate in the competition:
