Guided tour: The Face of Power at Rosenborg Castle

Join us on a guided tour that highlights the royal portraits.
The tour is in ENGLISH

Exciting tour with a focus on the royal portraits here at Rosenborg.
The unique collection of royal portraits at Rosenborg Castle not only gives us an idea what the individual members of the Danish monarchy looked like. The paintings can also give us a better understanding of the monarchy from the 16th to the 19th century.

On this tour, we will look at how the monarchy has been portrayed from the time of Christian IV to the time of Frederik VI and what role the portraits played. In particular, we will look at how the portraits sought to shape the public image of the monarchy, their use of symbols of power, stylistic expression and artistic execution and what they can tell us about the development of society.

We look forward to welcoming you!
