Guided Tour: The Best of Rosenborg in English
Join us on a guided tour that focuses on the very special objects, rooms and stories that embodies Rosenborg Castle’s 450-year history.
Experience Christian 4’s private chambers with secret sound channels, from where he could impress his guests with sweet music, and appear as a real Renaissance king. See, too, the bloodstained clothing from the fateful battle of 1644, in which the king lost sight in his right eye. Also hear the story of the introduction of absolute monarchy and see Frederik 3’s beautiful marble chamber.
The tour ends in the Great Hall, where you can see the throne of the absolute monarchs and the three silver lions used in the anointing ceremonies. In addition, there is Christian 5’s series of 12 tapestries, which testify to a time of many wars and conflicts between Denmark and Sweden. After the tour, it is possible to see the rest of the castle and the Treasury on your own.
Each tour can accommodate up to 25 people.
