Guided tour of ‘The Royal Yacht Dannebrog’
On this guided tour of the exhibition The Royal Yacht Dannebrog, you get the story behind the ship and its predecessor, a paddle steamer of the same name.
The Royal Yacht Dannebrog is a remarkable vessel: at once floating palace, holiday home and training ship. It also serves as a symbol of the unity of Denmark and the wider Realm when it carries The Queen and the Royal Family on visits to towns and ports in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
For this exhibition, we have created a full-scale replica of the beautiful bow and invite you on board. In recreations of crew quarters, official rooms and the quarterdeck, you can get an impression of life on board and experience the atmosphere in the various sections of this beautiful ship.
You are free to explore the entire ship, from below deck to the royal salons. Films and photos from the Royal Family’s private collections illustrate how summer days were spent on the quarterdeck. You can also experience the walk from the Hall and the Dining Salon at dinner time and visit the cramped space in the crew’s quarters and berths.
Welcome on board!
