Culture Night at Amalienborg 2018
When the October darkness descends on Culture Night, and the palace’s lights are turned on in Christian VIII’s Palace, music will over the course of the evening fill the beautiful rooms of the palace. The performing of pieces of classical music makes the museum particularly atmospheric on this evening of the year. The pieces are typical period examples of the favourite music of the members of the House of Glücksburg, and complete the experience of the palace.
At the museum you can learn about the everyday life of the royal family in our own time, and see the private chambers of earlier kings and queens. You will also meet our guides in the Garden Room ready to answer all of your questions about the museum and the Royal Family.
It will also be possible to visit the special exhibition The Fairy-Tale Queen on this night. Step into the royal land of fairy-tales when the Amalienborg Museum unfolds Her Majesty the Queen’s theatrical universe. The Queen has taken part in choosing a number of her own costumes and set designs for some of our most beloved fairy-tales, which we are exhibiting at the piano nobile.
On Culture Night the 14th October the museum is open from 6 PM until midnight. Entrance is free with a Culture Pass.
