Queen Louise, 1881

The full-length portrait of Queen Louise is placed next to the full-lenght portrait of her husband, Christian IX but there is ten years difference between the two paintings. Whereas the painting of Christian IX was executed in 1871 by H. Olrik, the portrait of Queen Louise was made in 1881 by Elisabeth Jerichau-Baumann. The portrait of the Queen is 238 cm tall and 114 cm wide. It is just as impressive with regard to size as the painting of Christian IX.
